Well I chose the forest that I can see from my window, or could if it stopped raining. Apparently a German aircraft crashed about there during WW2, and I came off my bike there on monday, so it is like the Bermuda Triangle...

Your story is better than mine; one of the abandoned areas where I ride in my town also has WW2 history. It used to be home to a mustard gas factory. The good news is that the only time the product was used was on our own Canadian troops. Seriously? Seriously.
I passed by your place about 26 years ago by bike on my way from Zamość to Lublin. Nice area!
I added mine, but it sure feels weird to be the only Texas marker.
