Just said the other day, I need a bmx, a big 26er. I want an old GT! But funding for the moment is elsewhere..
Big Daddy calls me today, we run down the general he said, she said, and who is the best actress, ok maybe not the last'..
Mentions he got a clunky beach cruiser, and it's rough, and odd. Right up my alley, so that left me groveling at his feet, begging as usual.
After a deal was made, I got this:

A TRAC branded tetanus shot, rolling lock jaw!
But I already have parts, this is my first build off, I just want to be in it.
Campies, some rim squeezers, bars, grips, and probably some innertubes'. (quit laughing Jack, everyone gets 4 flats in 4 days)
And that should, be all i purchase.

Never heard of a TRAC.
Glad to see you joining the fun!

Cool bike, I know Trac made mopeds back in the day, might be the same company. Or they leased their name out to another company.

o_OLooks a lot like a Taiwanese built Huffy. :39:Is the fender/brake bridge on the seat stays a plate welded on the underside?
Nope, it is a tube. The welds on this frame are pretty darn good, look to be hand t.i.g. welded.
I will get more pictures today during the tear down.

Cool, gotta be totally honest, if it were mine I'd be tempted to just remove everything it didn't have to have to be rideable. Then just throw on an old scruffy sprung saddle dropped down and back as for as it'd go, some fat cream thick bricks n call it done.........for what it's worth :)

This is a pre-bought plan! The stuff I have is payed for! My exercise in frugality, bought the Campy hubs off a member a year ago. Alloy Rims come from a Kulana puke.
Cranks are off my daughters bmx, which is needing a frame.
Pedals are goose? Modified of course.
Bars are going to have to be mad chopped, wish I had some cool bmx cruiser bars!
Later I will post the tear down.
CLUNKY, the rat!
Ps: only will be clear coating, I learned my lesson about repaints!

Back to the story....

To bad somebody let this stuff go to rust. The back rim is very moped looking.

Here is where I ended, bars, seat, and sprocket....

I got so close! With all my other "projects," I only had a couple hours.
First I was going to replace that headset....only someone beat me there!
The lock nut bound up, I split it to relieve the pressure, it came off. Next was a lock ring, and someone had split it? Well anyway, I greased it up, tightened it all together with a new lock nut.
Gearing is too high.
Back tube is bad.

Probably have to change the name to bomber!

TRAC, what a weird company, like they never existed after internet!
I will get some pictures of the hubs.
I will do a great shoot soon!

This bike is hot but not quite to temp, I got some pre-done pictures!

The bars are off a pj7 or something, a wallpuke bike.

The seat looks cool! But is some kind of hip splitter for narrow waisted kids....

This is the piece that connects you to the earth, I don't play around, generic gt 3 piece cranks.

My favorite part of this bike, the campies! They were gray when I got them, great pains were taken to refinish them original, not just polished!
20140513_053834_zpsb783d26b.jpg

The spokes are of the grey variety, but my wife and I spent a couple hours sanding and polishing, now they rust.

What about that name change?
Is it allowed?

I got to ride yesterday, I missed manual wheelies! I mean, I still do them with coaster brakes, but, no real hanger ons, fear of flipping!
But with a freewheel, and hand brake, I'll ride it like a unicycle! :)
