Let say you has a lugged steel frame, and you wanted to replace the tubes with aluminum. How is the aluminum bonded to the steel?

I want to make a linkage fork with aluminum legs for weight, but with steel dropouts and linkage mounts...

Bolt it? lol :21:. Epoxy really works well with plastics, because it bonds them together, but I have never tried with steel and aluminum. I know 3M is top quality stuff, so anything to try would be it.

Aluminum and steel will bond by themselves over time. Ever tried to get one of those big fat Torrington aluminum necks out of a steel fork? Not good. Epoxy sounds like the way to go. Gary

Ha! :) add slight current, wait years, bond is permanent!
