Bones Bomber

On the rears, yes. They are a little long, but nothing a couple layers or electrical tape can't handle. I'll send you a pic when I pull the tire off. The fronts are just too long for the Felt or a Sturmey hub. Fortunately, I had some made for The Bishop that I can re-use on this build.
I spent last night working on stencils, and this morning getting on and hitting the frame with paint. I chose Viper White to contrast the Hot Rod Black.
I need to hit it with some steel wool to knock down the rough parts, but I'm pretty happy with how this turned out.
When Powell Peralta would come up with a new deck for a pro, they would slap "EXPERIMENTAL" all over it.
Considering that they never made a bomber like this, I decided to include it on my seat tube.
Pretty crisp lines this time around. Need to let this dry a bit, then I'll work on the downtube and top tube.
Once that dried for a bit, I started on the the down tube paint. One one of the skateboard forums I found a guy that had made a Powell Peralta font - perfect for the downtube.
Stencil removed. So that's two tubes down, only one to go.
I picked this up months ago, and have been saving if for this build. It is the only thing I ever bought on Etsy. This is, of course, a stencil.
After three coats, and a lot of picking to get the vinyl off, it turned out like I hoped.
And here's the complete frame. Just letting the paint set a little longer before hitting it with a satin clear.
After priming the aluminum stem, I shot it with three coats of Viper White. This is going to be pretty sick...
If I can get it primed today, then I should be able to start some assembly tomorrow.

What if, instead of skate wheels, Rat Bones were forks? That's what I went with on the forks. I was luck enough to find some good images online, that I could make stencils from. I swear, the little Silhouette Cameo software is amazing at this stuff. It took me maybe 5 minutes to take the images, smooth them out, and then chop them in to the stencils I needed.
The Rat Bones stencils were extremely fine, and really tricky to work with. It took a while, but I finally got the stencils sorted, and the paint on. I need to clear these still. I'm hoping to find an hour to do this before I fly to Australia Thursday night.
The next big thing on my pick list is the front wheel. Still not sure if it will be a drum brake, dyanamo, or maybe both...

Well, the paint is done, clear coat is dry, and it's ready for assembly. Pretty happy with how it turned out.
Well, Fruttolo, I'm still going back and forth on the front brake. I was originally thinking of a disc front, and have an Avid mechanical brake sitting in a box, but I wanted a bulkier looking hub to go along with the hefty wheel. The fork will support both disc or drum...
Clear coat on the skull as well. The satin clear laid down nicely on the Viper White base coat.
So, still on the pick list - white saddle and a polished front hub (maybe disc)...

I asume you will go with a bolt on hub If you find a source for a reasonably priced one let me know. I found one on eBay and have continued to look with no luck.

After a two week trip to Australia and Asia, I finally found some time to get her assembled. I'm still missing a couple parts - like the chain and the saddle - but she's finally a roller.
I went for the BMX cranks, with 28t up front and 13t in back. Combined with the Sturmey-Archer 2-speed kickback, it's a pretty fast ride - despite the meaty wheel and tire combo.
I'm really happy with how she rides. The Felt frame is big enough that it fits me just fine - though I may end up raising the seat...
With the 57mm rims and the 3" tires, this is a pretty plush ride. I don't even need the front springer - but do like the look of it.
I'm pretty pleased with the stem. They really should make this one in white from the factory.
A couple more parts, and I'll pronounce her done, and then I'll have to snap some better pics to post here.
