Got my prize along with some great New Zealand post cards (bonus)!
Thank you Glen, this prize really has made my day! Although I'm sure that a set of 3G wheels would be awesome for the first place winners, getting this package all of the way from New Zealand just for having fun building a bike is very rewarding for me!

Cheers my friend!

I have made my decision for the winner of “The Brightest Spark” - Someone that deserves a nice cool beverage because they did something especially clever and inventive on their build... a champion of ingenuity.

This is the prize...

It was a tough choice as there were many entries with very clever and inventive additions and/or modifications.

So after much to-ing and fro-ing - the winner is...

SOUTHERN FLYER by The Renaissance Man
BUILD THREAD: viewtopic.php?f=75&t=72053
FINISHED THREAD: viewtopic.php?f=78&t=75546
100_5588_zpsdb0bf4bc.jpg

The reasons for my choice are...

1. Clever use of toilet seat hinge parts.

2. Ingenious method of attaching a laid back seat post.

3. Inventive way of using seat clamps for the cool board track drop bars.

4. Cunningly luring watchers into a great build (YZ-24 MotoBike) then switching to another about 5 weeks from the end.

5. Was clever enough to actually research how to get that nice brown metal colour.

6. Grafted on dropouts to the fork with tabs attached for use with the truss rods. The new dropouts added the extra length needed to resolve the “short fender brace” conundrum, skillfully “killing two birds with one stone” as the old saying goes.

7. Using a “nifty little slotted brass plug” to fill a hole on the headlight bowl was also pretty impressive and using the word “nifty” highly comendable.

8. And most brilliant of all... that photo of this deceptively simple bike parked alone on a shady lane with fog hanging serenely in the background, in stark contrast to the frenetic few preceding weeks.

Now that's clever...

Congratulations Renaissance Man, a PM has been sent requesting your postal details.

Cheers,

Glen.

I received my third place prize Friday and got it framed Saturday for a picture today. I want to give a big thanks to The Renaissance Man for making the poster he did an amazing job.

Wow! Awesome work on the Lucky 7 logo too RMan!!!

It's great seeing photos of prizes with the builds.
LET"S SEE MORE OF THAT!!

Sweet photo!

That is so cool... to see that spark plug bottle opener sitting there on your bench in Alabama when just two weeks ago it was sitting on my desk where I am right now about to be packaged up and sent off.

I have to say that it looks way more at home where it is now :D

Thanks again, and I should add that it works well! I'll have to find a New Zealand beer for the full effect!

Just received word from RatRod that my prize from 3G got sent out last week! They were out of stock on the copper wheels and postage on wheels to Australia was going to be excessive anyway, so we switched them out for a pair of 26 x 3.45 BOA-G's. (cheaper and pack flatter) Looking forward to getting them, already have a few ideas in mind for a bike build around them!
