Burrito (aka Longhorn)

So over in the Facebook page Freakbikers UNITE!! (2014 freakbikers burrito build-off) they are have a Burrito bike build off. I just couldn't stay away from the build, so in the flavor of a burrito build this is going to be a $0 build.

The one thing that I am wondering is if the 3-1/2" long crank arms are going to be to short. The gear train is this, a 28T chainring w/ 3-1/2" cranks, 24T left side jack shaft sprocket, 36T right side jack shaft sprocket, 19T rear cog and a 20" tire. So if I take the 28T / 24T x 36T / 19T x 20" = 44.21 gear inches. Though I am not 100% sure if the normal gear inch formula will work this way.

The clearance is even more critical with an over all length just under 6 feet....

After thinking long and hard I came to the conclusion that the kiddy bike crank arms where just way to short. So I replaced the whole BB assembly.

And just think this was all started on 6/1 from a pile of parts.

Ok Longhorn is a rider now, but the front chain has way to much slack in it. I will try adding another half link to see if that helps any.

The handlebars turned out good I do believe.

Had a few failures getting Longhorn to work 100%, but got past that and now it rides really nice...

One of the failures was the left side jack shaft sprocket came off. I think that was due to me not tightening the nut enough that holds it on. Also the Ghost Ring that I had on that side also kept on popping off the chain. I guess the multi speed chainring was to thin to stay on the single speed chain.

The back Nanner seat seat supports are the ends of a set of forks...

This is the one that kept popping off the chain before I changed it to this one. Both are the same tooth count....
