Calling all Dads

Is there a trick to mounting 12-1/2" tires on the rims ? Ive been fighting these things for 2 days now and no luck, dry mount, soaped up the rims, 1 bead at a time, both beads at a time, without a tube ... I'm stuck !!!

I have replaced a few 12-1/2" tires on my mini's and have never had a problem putting them on, are you sure your wheels are 12-1/2" not 14"?

thats what im beginning to suspect, i bought the wheels (loose wheels hanging from the ceiling) at my lbs, the were marked as 12" and they appear to fit the tires when side by side, but kind of have a tall lip on the wheels. ill snap a pic and show you what ive got.

I once had a 26x1 3/8" tire that I just couldn't get on the rim. I let the tire sit out in the sun for a while until it was really nice and warm. It made them much more stretchy and they went on surprisingly easy.
