i love to look at the bikes in this forum and enjoy every aspect of this place. but i ride my old school 62' jch ss cruiser to/from work and for the winter, i put on a older, chrome rear rack for hauling my raingear home or to work if i think the weather is gonna be bad. does a classic style all chrome rear rack deratifing my ride or making it rattifly versitile?

this is the ride and i don't have any picts with the rack. still rat worthy, right?

Just my opinion... HECK YES! Whatever makes you cruising comfortable is priority. Luggage racks, baskets and even bottle holders should be considered by anyone that is planning on real cruising! 8)

if you want to be sure you're good and ratty, my suggestion would be to find a rusty rack or to make a rack out of some crappy something :D for instance, use some old front forks attached to your rear axle to support an old refrigerator rack back there. something like Emily's Instant Basket Support at Instructables.com, only rustier.

I have a rack from a Schwinn Hollywood on the front of my brown primer 52 Schwinn.

I'm sure if you're riding in the rain and carrying wet drippy rain gear on it, it will develop a patina.

thanks for the great responses, and i am proud to say there is a touch of rust on my chrome rack as to add to the rust on my handlebars. :D i figured it to be kinda a random question, but we all have them.
