No doubt most of you have heard of the ....... in Michigan who ran into a group of riders killing 5 and injuring 4 more. This is one of the worst but sadly it has happened before and will happen again.

What can we as riders do to protect ourselves from these angry lunatics?

Thoughts and prayers for the victims and their families of this tragic event.

Truly, a sad story.

Tonight went for a 10mi ride with my wife and some nut went over center into our lane coming at us on our bikes I dont know if they were texting or what!
Crazy, all I could think of is that accident in the news.
In an instant, they veered back into their lane! Man crazy - even in the country we share the road with cars.

Ride the rail to trails , bike trails , mixed use trails , etc where the cagers do not drive.

Not much you can do when the driver is intoxicated. The best thing to do is file a police report on every close call. It may not be ticketed, but they should file it in a database. These databases are then used when planning any bike or pedestrian project in conjunction with road improvements.

If you don't report it, it does not count.

A front end loader? SERIOUSLY!? Then following the news team in a car? :facepalm:

Most news-worthy morons around Columbus just pretend they're not home when the camera crew shows up, or they open the door a crack and yell some variation of "no comment."
