^ Just before I discovered Ratrodbikedotcom I was toying with the idea to put a skateboard on my ATB that would function as a rack. But it didn't happen... I just couldn't find the right deck. However I did find a beautiful one on a fleamarket several months ago, but its fibreglass, has a nice print on top, but ahem... it's just too nice to cut up. So. I'm restoring a skateboard... I grinded off a fraction of an inch overall to make the lines crisp again. One truck is done polished, and for the other I just need some ballbearings and steelwool... It's the white one in the pic above.

For the cartboardtracker-build I wanted again a wooden seat on top of my rack. I had this idea of two or three pieces of wood with a layer of leather from an old belt. But last saturday at work I found an old wooden desk chair from the 80's with a broken frame. I drilled out the rivets and took the curved wood home. I love using prefabbed items differently than intended. Especilally curved wood. So I cut two pieces from the sides and bolted it to two pieces of wood with the rack in the middle. And guess what... It's even nicer than a skateboard. The curve fits better to the rest of my bike.
^ First mock up. Still have to make the two sides even.

^ this is pretty much it. Thinking about blacking out the bottom pieces. Those are big chuncks, and I don't know if they're gonna bother me later on...
^ I cut off 1,5 inches from both sides of the handlebars. With the tankplate in place I wasn't able to make tight corners. I don't mean while cycling though. But when I'm putting the bike aside trying not to damage it... I still can't do freestyle tricks, but the short bars help.
^ And finaly, just before I wanted to throw away the heavily damaged headbadge I noticed It WASN'T damaged. It IS some sort of oxidation but it's on top of the paint. I have been rubbing it after spraying WD40 for half an hour. So maybe another half an hour of elbowgrease and my badge might well be clean...

The rear rack is really nice! You know, there's a motorcycle in Sweden from the 50's ( a Husquarna called Rödmyran) with a seat for one person. But when they wanted to ride two on it there was an extra seat, like a pillow, to attach to the rack...just thought you might get ideas... :wink: Someday I'll get one of those motorcycles and restore it!
