Chrome Wheel Cleanup

I’m always amazed on how well rusty old wheels clean up. This wheel set is from my 67 Sears Spyder. The inside of the rims looks brand new. I have a short video of a side by side of the wheels but can’t load it. Used bronze wool pads and vinegar to get rid of the rust.

Nice! Fine steel wool and WD-40 are my weapons of choice.

I use this method as well, often, but tend to lean on the bronze wool for certain parts. Steel wool is cheaper and easier to find too.

steel wool will scratch, no matter how fine. Sure, when your wheels look like that, it really doesn't matter, but I don't use it as a habit. I used balled up aluminum foil.

I've used wd40 and steel wool worked great for me . I haven't tried it yet but I thought about spraying some auto wheel cleaner on bike wheel and after rinsing then should be very light cleaning with Steel wool and WD 40.
