Just picked up a few bikes on a recent hunt. I picked up a couple complete prewar ladies bikes, a Keystone and a Higgins Colorflow. I also picked up a cool Clevend Welding Company frame with a skiptooth crank and really cool springer front end. Trying to date this frame as there is a 6 digit serial number on the bottom of the frame, 19665. Anybody have any reference material that can help me out? Here are a few pics of the Cleveland. Looks like it was originally a green color but some body has painted over it with a light blue latex that seems pretty easy to flake and peal off.

So you are saying the front end is not the stock match for the Cleveland frame?

Cool, thanks for the info. Now I won't feel bad swapping that front end onto my JC Higgins rat bike

So you say a letter should precede those numbers? I'll check that again. Do you know what letter denotes which years?
