I am having a tough time figuring out what color scheme to use on my Firebolt project.
I am going to have it powdercoated and don't want any regrets later.

Part of me wants to keep it close to the original paint scheme, but with a slight twist like this

Black and Cream with creme Fat Franks

Part of me wants to add a little color pop to it like this

black and Powder Blue with Black Fat Franks

I realize this comes down to my personal preference, but I wouldn't mind hearing your thoughts and Suggestions.

This is just my opinion (we all have them) but making the straight bar/rack bar a different color makes it look like an add-on to the frame instead of a cool integrated piece like it is.

So my opinion is to powder the frame 1 color and add details or striping for the "pop."

Interesting. Didn't think of it appearing like an add on if it was a different color. Thanks for the suggestion.

maybe I won't paint it or powder coat it. Maybe, just maybe, I will have it wrapped in animal fur just to spite PETA.

I'll call it the FurBolt

I like the idea of the straight bars having a different colors. To me it actually makes the built in feature stand out. Mono color Firebolts sometimes look like a regular straight bar bike with a separate rack from a side view.

You could just powder coat the whole thing black, then spray paint the straight bars the color of your choosing. If you don't like it, paint again different color or back to match the powder coat. If you go two tone I think I'd make the color difference subtle.

Nothing beats black and cream, IMO...

+1

Do the frame matte black and everything else satin black. Cream Quick Bricks will look amazing if they'll fit that frame. I have a Newsboy Special and they fit without issue. I believe the Thunderbolt frame has narrower stays, so that may limit what you can use back there.
