Colson year ID?

Just picked this up and am trying to ID the year. The serial numbers under the BB are as follows:

1C

Any ideas?

1C should put it as a 1941. Any chance it's a 7C? I don't know if they made this frame into '41. It's possible though.

Just looked again and it's clearly a 1 and not a 7.

To put Jason's doubts to rest, The Colson book by John Polozzi shows that this style frame was indeed made in 1941.

I have a correct chainguard and rack for your '41. Obviously the paint isn't a match. Attached is a link to my CL ad. Obviously the prices aren't cheap either. Shipping would be additional.

So the 1 is '41 and I'm guessing that the C is the month (maybe March?).

Dave, I'll keep those parts in mind, but for now I haven't given much thought about how I might build it or even if I will keep it or sell it.
