this is my first partial rebuild i have attempted.. so... I am going bald now
bought this as a 53 Huffy, think it's more in the 40's with the paint scheme and plain chainguard
originally planned on putting a set of chopper/springer forks on it, but after some confusion with the headtube size I went with a set of forks, from a 50's Huffy, I got from a forum member here
still did not fit correctly...not a huge deal easy fix for the LBS, but this also made me question the year..
also 26" tires fit on it, but I am not sure if it was a 26" to begin with.. drudging forward anyway.
also, apparently there are two different 1" headset sizes.. mine was the irregular one.. of course.. the LBS also hooked me up with a new headset Thanks guys
got most of the original hardware still, and it cleaned up nicely
got it back from the LBS tonight and had to throw it sorta together, just to make sure it fits.. not that I am impatient or anything
bars are also from another 50's Huffy. Need to finish sanding this down and then paint.. summers coming way too fast now
any tips, pointers, comments are more than welcome, and very appreciated
