Cool find at local shop

Looks like the Slick Daddy is getting a new stem. I love the looks of the original GT stem, but always thought it looked out of place on a Kustom Kruiser. The only thing that sucks about the KK stem is that it has a 31.8mm bar clamp, so bar selection is limited unless I use shims.

Yeah, but shims suck! I found a set of bars that I'm okay with. Look how fat it is in the clamp.

Wow that's a big stem. Also looks to put your bars a bit furthur out from the original GT stem. I am really interested to know why KK made a stem to hold 1.25" bars. Also interested to know what the bars look like that KK had in mind for that stem. Can you show a pic of the front end incuding the bars? Ive never been a fan of beach bars with a triple tree stem. I'm thinking of going the ape hanger route on my Slick Daddy.

Yeah I dunno why either. It came stock on one of there bikes. The shop that sold me the stem took it off a customers bike because the customer couldn't find bars that he liked. I could only find one cruiser bar that fits right. There are a ton of mountain bike bars. I even thought about doin real motorcycle bars.
