I hadn't seen this before. I love the look, and I really love how the batteries and motor are built together to look like an old V-twin engine. Awesome.

I'm a 56 year old guy from the UK and I've built a couple of electric bicycles from scratch during the last year or so.

That E-Indian is a master piece :shock: , well done on the chopper also 8)

would be cool if you could make a "how to thread" for the electronics of a e-bike if you make another one , like if you have a motor and battery pack , but dont know how to wire the thing to have a progressive throttle , charger, and other stuff .... that is if its not to complicated to explain :?: :wink:

I will put together a guide if you think it will be helpful.
It isn't as hard as you might imagine, especially if you keep things to a minimum.

I'll also put something on the 'intro' section too, when I get a moment free.

And yes, Al; the battery for the chop is in the saddlebag and the motor is laced into the old OCC Stingray rear rim.
Check out my earlier link to the build (hopefully it works OK?), where all is revealed......

yes, that link was still working. I read thru it. Awesome!! I still have a few bikes in mid-done status, but I will try one of these e-bikes. Problem is that its spring, and I bass fish on 1 day per weekend, and am on call for work every 3 weeks. So prolly wait till fall to tackle it. I AM PLANNING ON WELDING UP A BURRITO, MAY BE THE PERFECT BIKE TO ELECTRIFY. Self taught TIG,huh? I am certified MIG, but never had a stinger in my hand yet. I may try to do the same.! Thanks! Glad you like my build, Al! Sounds like you're more than qualified to build your own brilliant e-bike, but yes, I suggest you wait until the Fall as these things do tend to take over your life. Luckily I didn't have bass fishing to distract me, or else nothing would have got done.

I did a course on MIG many years ago and tried TIG too, but that was a nightmare.
However, after I saw the monkeys at OCC using modern TIGs, I thought 'how hard can it be?' and bought a set (linked in my Indian build).
Absolutely fantastic, and so much better than the old 'scratch' sets - give one a try if you get the chance!

I wasn't familiar with the 'burrito bikes' but I had a look online and they look ideal! Let me know how you get on, or if you need any help.

Hope your Easter is warmer than ours - it's the coldest UK Easter for 100 years (insert smilie for 'freezing my butt off' )

Thanks! I've been dabbling with various types of welding for quite a few years, just as a hobby, but couldn't get on with TIG when I tried it a while back.

However, technology has moved on quite a bit since then, and the set I have now is SO much easier!

The welds on these two bikes are virtually all I've done with it from scratch, so if you can already weld, you should have no problems.
(The set also puts down a good stick-weld bead too, if you need to do any heavy-duty stuff.)
