Greets from Athens, Greece

I've asked this question at the CABE forums too, but more opinions never hurt. Couple of weeks ago, I bought a cruiser from a friend in order to restore it.It has no labels, colours, or any badges. It had 26'' tyres.

The only thing i managed to find is its serial, under the pedal crank, JF95K1637. The tyres and the wheel rims, they are of a different brand whatsoever (a czech Favorit), they had been replaced who knows when..

I'm posting some pictures here. If you have any clues as to what model it is, or could provide me with any pictures, that would be great.
The nice folks at the CABE suggested a cruiser-clone probably of Chinese birth :)
The bike itself:

Thanks in advance for any ideas you might got!

I think you have a late 80's Huffy....the frame geometry and chainguard are very close to the appearance of mine. Your chainring is different, but so is mine, as I went up to a 52T Monark style. Does yours have a three piece crank set up?

Hey rz,
It's funny that you were the first reply, when I was looking for info on my bike i came up on your nice cruiser picture (you had it another post) and I thought 'how nice!'.

And now the newbie question - what do you mean by three piece crank set - up? If you mean a separate right and left crank arm which are attached to a sort of spindle in the middle, yeah that's what I have. This is a close-up of the crank

gonna look for huffy serials now, though last time I checked i did not find a good match ... if you got any more ideas, please shoot away

Thanks a lot!

You've got a three piece set up, just what you said, separate arms and spindle set up. It looks nice! Thanks for the comment on mine.

I've had no luck with these later style Huffy serial numbers as well. I'm sure yours is close to the vinatge of mine, and more than likely a US made frame, not the Chinese version (I have one of those too).

The laid back angle of the seat tube, the way the lower downtube tapers away from the front tire, the style chainguard you have, I'm sure you've got what I have.
They're a great base to start from.

so i just bought a brand new 09 huffy cranbrook cruiser the other day, serviced an 06 cranbrook last week and bought a 99 cranbrook last month and built it up. the newer cranbrooks have like 3 or 4 letters before two munbers, followed by another letter than like 5 to 7 more numbers. i think the two numbers (an 09 on mine and an 06 on the other cranbrook are the years) right after the first letter seq., is the modle year. just a theory.

interesting cruiser whatever it is. id like to go with huffy, but i never known huffy to make a cruiser with 3pc cranks.

thanks for your comments guys. The issue with the serial that I find confusing is the first two letters, JF. I have seen that most huffys have a double H (HH) before any numbers?
If I look at JF95K1637 I reckon it's a 1995 model, but I have no idea what the JF or K mean. Would you mind posting your serials from the 99 cranbrook ?

As a last resort I consider to email huffy and ask for their opinion, lol!

cheers everyone

the 99 huffy cranbrook (or santa fe) 6speed (i converted it to a ss fw) K99I36856
my new 09 huffy cranbrook SNHEJ09A05387

hope that helps, but i am still wondering if huffy ever made a 3piece crank cruiser. and the frame section around the rear dropouts look too good to be a huffies, as well. 3pc cruisers i've seen have been either higher end bikes, like trek or diamond back or they have been of european orgin.
