Custom Huffy 'Rail' tribute bicycle
This bike pays homage to the 'muscle bikes' of the 1960s and 70s except in an adult sized package!
The bike began as a 1968 Huffy 'Silver Jet'. The frame and fork were sandblasted to bare metal, and coupled with a period correct chainguard. Everything was then sprayed in a copper tone metallic paint.
Chrome fenders, a banana seat and 'apehanger' handlebars finish the look.
Parts include:
New sealed bearing headset for smooth steering
New front and rear tires/tubes (skinny in the front, fat in the back for that 'muscle bike' look)
New aluminum 'bullet' trim on top bars
New rear single speed wheel for easy pedaling
New soft matching Thompson 'soda bottle' grips
NOS vintage 'banana' seat
NOS vintage rat trap pedals
NOS vintage Huffy headbadge
NOS vintage 'Wald' stem
New Huffy 'Rail' decal set
A quick release seat clamp and extra rear lugs were added for easy seat adjustment
All mechanical service performed (everything greased and tightened)
The end result is the perfect blend of classic styling and quality with modern reliability
