Fun day......wish I'd of had a camera. Nate took me along on one of his outtings and man what a place. Junk everywhere....this place would make an excellent stop for the pickers. Sorry, I've been sworn to secrey

What we believe to be a '42 CWC built Western Flyer......Phil if you want the #'s off of it I'll get them for you. Also brought home a '75 Stingray that I wanted the tires off of......the fork on this thing is killed. I'm thinking there was a toothless kid after the accident

Awesome find! I am inclined to agree it may be a 1942 based on the painted springer struts. The factory pictures I have seen that I equate to 42 production show white out truss rods and bars and no added sheet metal. CWC had a strong link with Western Autos at that time so if any tanks were left to put on bikes they may have been first in line to get them. I'm very interested in the serial number on this one, I'll take a stab at it being a "K" with five digits (late 41) or more likely, an "A" which turns up on most of the bikes I attribute to 42.

Thanks!

You found those   Lucky  Sweet finds for sure

Phil, A14014 is the serial # Thanks for the great info as usual

Fellas....not sure what I'm going to do with the Yellow Stingray yet. I wanted the tires and seat post off of it for my '74 5 speed
