I'm curious if anyone knows how to date this Evans Commander. I also have the ladies version, which is identical in every way other than the colors. SN F023587B26.

Picked this thing up yesterday, no clue what it is. I posted up in the for sale section, a lil help with the value would be appreciated too!

The Evans is around 55-57. There's not much info or any serial codes available, but they were only around from 1954-62, so there are only so many years to choose from! The second bike is a Snyder design. It's either A:, a '58- early 70s frame, or B:, since it has some bmx flavor, it could be an early Emory. they bought Snyder's tooling after they went out of business around '76. So, the early Emorys are basically the same, they later started modifying the design. One possible way to tell the difference, a Snyder frame should have "SE" in a circle, stamped on the rear axle dropout. It would likely be under the fender braces. Snyder was most known for building Rollfasts, and many Hawthornes for Montgomery Ward's. -Adam

No SE stamped anywhere that I could see... Looks like it's probably an emory, although I googled and didn't find one that looks like this.
