(Dec 1968) 1969 Schwinn Orange Krate!! - One Owner/All original

My dental hygienist told me this was her brothers bike he got for Christmas in 1968. I've replaced tubes and cables and housing and will replace tires whn they come in. I'm also waiting for the pinch bolt for the rear derailleur so I can shift it!! Cleaned it up in two days and its a good looker (even though it's just a Schwinn).

These are the photos she sent me of the bike before it was brought from Florida to Tennessee where it now resides....

Taken immediately after I picked it up and brought it to the shop.

Great job cleaning it up too, it looks like you've taken your time and done a nice job keeping the original paint anf decals looking mint.

You did a nice job cleaning it up, looks good. It has the early 69 rounded shifter handle, orange sparkle grips, orange line slick. Very nice pickup!

That cleaned up nice. What was the clean up technique you used on the wheels?

took the spokes out. copper and brass wire brushes while rims are wet with liquid wax. then buffed with combo of eagle one chrome polish and mothers mag/aluminum polish. I used that method on all of the chrome to not only clean but preserve it.
