Like a lot of bike builds, this one began on CL with an ad for a bike. A $65 "Springer frame and fork bars" and so after $40 bucks exchanged hands I went home with this 07 Manhattan Trucker. After the amazing and cheap bike stash I went to (check Fresh Finds for my Hat With A Chin Strap post for pics) in Aurora OR paying $40 seemed steep but those forks alone woulda cost that much with shipping I figured. So what follows is what I am calling the Dirty Mutha Trucker.

First a shot of where I am at followed by where I started:

So far its an 07 Manhattan Trucker Frame and Fork. Mid 40s (or so I am told) Wards Hawthorne Skip Tooth Sprocket and crank and wheel set. (I am not gonna call it a dog leg but I like how the crank arm jogs out a little. different than my other bikes.) Brooks Seat...urgh...I know SADDLE. MTN bike Seat post and seat post clamp. I want to get some Bear Trap Bmx style pedals for it. Anybody have some to trade/sell? The grips are off an old exercise bike. That's about it. I
hope you enjoy the pics. I will post more as I build up!

I salvaged the Skip Tooth Chain from the donor bike. I don't think it's gonna fit. Anyone know how to stretch a Skip tooth chain with out dropping a bunch of coin on a "New" chain?

I know it looks like the pedals were installed at Wal-Mart...they store better like that.

**After seeing some of the 'From Scratch' builds today I prefer to refer to this as an 'Assembly' over a Build. I am humbled by the talent exhibited by those visonaries. The Mr. & Ms. bike??? Out of control.**
