Dragstripper Clone

Built this for my son out of two old Iversons. A Mini-Miss girls bike and a beat up Charger. All parts are original Iverson parts except the wheels and the rear caliper.

How did you do the transition from the small diameter tube to the larger on the new top bar? I bought this project from largek9 and wanted to get some tips. I have the rest of the parts from a purple girls roadrunner to transfer over to the dragstripper once I get the new tube welded in. should be awesome.

I used a piece of 1 1/2 inch tubing I picked up from an exhaust shop. For the taper I cut either 6 or 8 "fingers" in the end of the tube and bent toward the center and welded it back together. I then used the cut off piece of the top tube for the 3/4" section. The important thing here is to keep everything straight when welding the tapered piece to the 3/4" tube. Hope this helps
