I have no idea what it is or what to do with it, but I brought it home because it was free

I've got baskets coming out of my ears now. I might have to get a paper route.

look's like it is 24"? might be a Hawthorne frame, how are the headbadge screws? horizontal or vertical? I would have dagged it home for free also, nice

Pretty sure it's a 26".(didn't look too hard at this or my other recent find) No sign of a head badge or screws, but it's been painted with what looks to be house paint. Very thick coat. I am leaning toward parting it out, so keep an eye on the classifieds. But then again, It could get stretched a smidge in a gender re-assignment.

I've decided I'm going to cut it up and have bigpantsbob weld in some bars. I'm going to stretch it just a few inches also. Bob and I have an idea, but no time frame. I'll post up the cut up photos when I start hacking away. I imagine this will be a winter project for me since it's camping time!!

Looks an awful lot like my 38 colson wings deluxe. Same flares on the dropouts, same tensioners, Chain is not skip tooth on yours, but it may have been swapped.

I never noticed how similar they are... that's interesting. Definitely not of the same manufacturer, though.

Sweet bike Skip,
Great find for such an early bike. If you want to restore or customize it, give me a shout. I have a commercial sandblast cabinet at work, it's a perfect antidote for that house paint.

If you want to do something like that with it, disassemble it and get it to me, and I'll blast it and get it back to you.

That crank looks EXACTLY like the one on my Worksman. I'm sure they're made by Sachs or Shimano these days.

The rest of the bike is a lot older from what I see. I'm guessing later 30s to just postwar.

Lucky!
