on a drum brake front hub, does it matter if the braking mechanism is on the right or left side of the wheel?

I put mine on the right. Oops! I didn't know there was a correct side. It works okay on the right. I put on a drum brake from an old moped. It will just about throw you over the bars if you lean on it hard. Gary

If its got a dynamo, it should only run one way, for the sake of the dynamo. Not sure about all mopeds, but most drums i've seen have the brake on the left...

I've got a prewar Schwinn with the drum on the right, and a vintage Sturmey Archer with the drum on the left... :?:

Ultra hawt. For a second, I thought "this dummy is prolly running the hub backwards", but it's very clear that it wouldn't work anywhere but the drive-side. Incredible bike.

You're an animal, running those big gears, btw.
