On the market we have many rims, some of them can work with rim bracas and some can't, most of the rims used in old bicycles can work with rim brakes without any problem. Since 2016 when I build my cruiser I have just one set of wheels, and magura hs33. Trough this time I did around 15000 miles, cange brakepads 10-12 times, but the rims are still fine.
