Hi all
This is a bike I built last year, when I started I had no experience in this kind of thing before, it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be (especially if you have a friend who can weld) so anyone thinking of giving it a go, do it!
I'm still doing some work on this bike, changing parts as I find them etc so there will be some updates

I started out with a rough idea and some old bicycles
First was the MSPaint design phase :)

Then time to start cutting

I used an online tube miter tool http://metalgeek.com/static/cope.pcgi to help with the joins and a digital angle finder was very useful
Spent a lot of time cutting, grinding and filing then got a friend to weld it and ended up with this, 2 bikes and a couple extra lengths of tube went into it

I bought the springer forks and laced up new hubs and spokes to some nice and rusty old rims
The frame was acid dipped to remove the paint and was left as bare metal

I always intended on filling the space between the top tubes and what better way than some leather bottle carriers

I cut the chain ring up so I could swap ratios by bolting on a different size ring, the extra bit of chain is added via a master link for the larger ring

Tool pouch was added to help fill the gap under the seat, it's still got the original tools in it too

As it stood just after finishing it

Looking great mate, will keep an eye on it. Always good to see another board tracker out there. Can I ask what type of acid you used for the dip or did you have it done by someone. I want to clean up my frame before I send it off to powdercoat and fix any imperfections.

Keep the photos and the good work up.

Have made a few changes
Got a new (old) sprung seat, raleigh handle bars and some quick bricks
Also stripped the paint off an old chain guard I had and put that on, not 100% if I like it but I'll leave it and see if it grows on me

wow you could damnear lay down when riding but the tube would start to hurt your chest after while lol, bike looks cool man. What tires are those?

Cheers for the comments guys
kellis83 Regarding the acid dip I just took it to a company who specialise in it, I would have done it myself but had no time as I needed to take it on holiday. If you intend to powdercoat they may sandblast it for you, I went the dipping route because I was keeping it bare metal and wanted a smooth finish.
I would like to redo the lower part of the frame but it was easier to build it the way it is, maybe put a loop in and tidy it up in future.
The tires are Felt Quick Bricks, I just bought them off the site http://www.feltbicycles.com
