I'm currently working to get the history on this bike put to paper but here's a quick synopsis: I bought this bike off of Marcy who's Great-Grandfather built it for her and her two siblings (because she was youngest and couldn't reach the pedals she always rode in the middle.) When it was first made it had no brakes meaning that the person on the back would have to jump off and stop it; it wasn't til later that her Grandfather put brakes on it. Over the years it had parts replaced and eventually it got hung up in Marcy's shed where it stayed for years until it was sold to me.

This man really knew what he was doing when he built this bike, this was no thrown together piece every inch of this bike was well thought out.

I would not have suspected that was a home-built. Headset looks a little dicey but probably didn't start out that way. Shouldn't be too difficult to fix if you actually intend to ride it, rather than simply display. How often does one stumble upon a vintage three-seater?!

I had my suspicions that it wasn't home-built it just looks too well built, I've been talking to some different folks most are saying it's probably an Orient.

You need to find out about those chainwheels(sprockets). They are cool and maybe the identifier. Or possibly homebuilt as that "spider" attachment system is very interesting.
