early kona cruiser bmx?

I tried to find info on it but there doesnt appear to be pics of kona bikes before 1995
It cannot be older than 1988 since that is when kona name first appeared

It does look like a cheaper version of a Schwinn king sting 5 speed

I could be wrong, but I don't think that is a kona as in the company kona. Looks like kona cruiser is the model name. Also it looks pre '88. These types of cruisers were popular in the mid 80s. Khs, diamondback, cycle pro, Schwinn, etc made similar versions. Diamond frame, tubular forks, one piece crank, 'bmx' style stem.

Great candidate for a bmx style build imo

I didnt want to start modifying an actual kona that looked mostly original
but now I may just sell it
I found the perfect frame recently for my coaster brake challenge bike now I need to make room and money for it
