I'm with you on the saddle and pedals, but being tall I'll probably also change the bars, the pull backs don't give me enough room

Cool ride. Looking at the fork, I believe it was made by Giant. A layback post will give you more room. My guess is will have a 1” post. Truetorch make a really solid cromo post than wont bend.

According to this thread, they were made by Fairly, and later Hodaka. I think it's all connected to Giant somehow though.

I love the fork, especially with the graphics intact. Jamis had some super cool parts back then, like the Cheeks saddle, Sandjam tread tires, and the absolute best, the Sandjam Barefoot pedal, one side plastic for with shoes, the other side with a black rubber coating for barefoot cruising. They really tried to capitalize on the beach cruisin scene of the 80s

Fork should be Akisu - there’s a stamp near the dropouts

The inside of the seat tube probably measures 1.0

You have to have some pinch room for the clamp to do its job

After removing seat post I found it marked 24.8mm, I've not seen this size before.

How about 25.0 mm? Thats only a "few" thousandths of an inch. Some can be expensive like Thompson brand - they have a 25.0mm......shim time?

I found a 25.4mm on Amazon that has a 3mm wall, sufficient thickness that I can modify it to 24.8mm and still have a 2.7mm wall
