SEXY!!!!!
You definitely need to get that bike out in good light without the beautiful green garden behind it. The paint stands out more in the pic you had in the truck on the way home.

Thanks!

Thanks! Hope to try some photos on Sunday morning. Our art museum has an outdoor sculpture garden with some rusty perforated metal screen walls, should make for good background. I received permission to try it. There are also some limestone walls in the same area which are in public spaces. I might even go back to my Hammered Higgins bridge location. Time and lighting conditions will tell.
I've also thought about using a Sears store or sign as a backdrop.
Still don't have the Elgin tank decals I ordered, vendor starting to be thorn in my side.
I have a stand that I need to get tweaked and mounted or I will use OddJobs clamp method.

Wow! You really did have that all figured out from the get-go didn't you Ed?!
That pin striping is awesome. Solid work all the way around~!

That's some awesome colors on your bike. Really love the paint scheme and the pinstriping is awesome. It makes me want to try and practice for myself (but I'm afraid that my hand is not steady enough).
But what is really over the top is the straps matching the color of the bike! :113::rockout::praise:

Hey thanks SG? I think ShaneZ is one of the best pin strippers around. I have some of his lines on three bikes now. I've watched him do some over the top custom cars as well. I've tried doing freehand hand stuff myself but I have to resort to using pin-stripping making tape.
Yah the straps are "over the top" as well.
Really nice stripe work!

Luke.
I'm sure ShaneZ would appreciate your comment. His are well done freehand, mine use masking tape. He told me bikes are harder to do than cars because of the smaller radius surfaces. Flatter is always easier. He does some killer panels. I especially like the ones where 4-6 guys put their lines into one panel.
The lines cost you but have the pleasure of looking at them, kinda like buying art. Maybe it has some value to someone else maybe not. Some folks like spending money playing golf. I guess I like playing with bikes.
Maggie got up to go out so here I lay typing...

Let's say I had a vision and it just came together. The original thought was to try to replicate an old original color scheme. The old print catalogs are in black and white and only slightly allude to how they looked. I saw the description green and black with white trim so that's how it started. After I got started I found some photos of black, red and black Elgins. Green and black just stuck. RatRod had the copper wheelsets in his store, so thus the copper trim.
Here's a borrowed photo of a girls version that might be OG.

I have been waffling in regards to using this "Deluxe" piece on the chainguard. It fits but seems to contradict the overall appearance of the bike. A couple of weeks to go...

Put the tank on, tedious process. Two people, four hands would work better. Still need graphics.

I added a 24" kick stand w/ carriage bolt and clamp as a test. Rat? Seems to work if front wheel is positioned correctly. In up position doubles as an (exhaust pipe?). I'm going to get two smaller clamps. Suppose I ought to paint it black.
