Elgin Hub Parts/Assembly Photos

Just refurbished an Elgin hub the other day and took some photos for technical reference.....

That came out clean! The hub is an Elgin badged Musselman. I am adding it to the UCB Hub Project.

Ya I'd love to make a cutaway diagram of it for posterity, but it's being used for a resto project I'm working on, an all original '39 Elgin girls bike, my neighbor's mother's childhood bicycle.
Besides, my budget doesn't allow me to to cut up parts like that. I think if I had 15 hubs just like it I STILL wouldn't cut one up because I'd have a use for every single one of 'em.

yeahh, just find some rusted out ones and have your way with em. just sandblast the shells if the rust bothers you. :wink:
