While I was getting my battery swapped out at PepBoys, I cruised through the paint aisle. I was looking for a red and a white for my JC Higgins restore when I noticed this stuff. It's a high gloss spray wheel coating. It comes in satin black too, but I'm wondering if it would be more durable than regular rattlecan clear. Anybody ever use this it? Let me hear from ya!

My dad has painted alloy car wheels with it, it holds up very well on cars because it is made to not be damaged by the brake dust that can be corrosive. Lays down smooth too.

Thanks yooth, thanks Al.

I was hoping it was a little tougher than Rustoleum/Krylon, considering its intended use.

Does anyone make a clear epoxy in a rattlecan? Found some satin black that I plan on using for seat pans/springs, etc...

Cheers,
Dr. T

nope...BS, is what it is.
Epoxy is a copolymer. This means it is made from two different substances. There is the resin and the hardener. When you buy it in the store they are separated and you mix them right before you use them. It is a very strong material and makes a great adhesive. For more information look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epoxy...

i used this often to clear coat lightly rusted chrome parts after cleaning them and on bare metal and polished aluminum ... its very clear"not yellow" so its great
on paint ,it dissolve the paint if you put to much or don't wait till the paint is cured enough ... it also stink like hell .. fumes will get you dizzy ... but over all its a great clear
