As you might guess, now that the BBO is done I finally have a little time to work on my bike...:)

Still hoping we'll have another anything goes BO this winter, as I do suspect it'll take me at least that long to do this...

So, what I've managed to get sorted out...the rear axle and wheel assembly.
Needed to cut some threads on to the ends of the 3/4" shaft.
Now the rear end rolls !

Extended a steer tube and fitted it all together.
Fork, front wheel and fender are probably temporary... I've got another motorcycle wheel and a cool tire for the front and I'd like to make a sweet extended springer fork for it.
Very cool that this fork and wheel fit and the rear end sits level though...gives me the option of moving onto other areas of the build and getting it rolling sooner:)
Might make my custom front wheel and fork at the very end..

Oh yeah, here's a pic of the tube extension.
Only thing I had around to slip in there was some threaded rod...

And, note to self and any other tube extenders out there!
Cut the tube further down from the threaded end....got very lucky that I was able to get a stem in this!
The Prewar Deco stem sits fine but others bottom out on the joint and looked weird sticking out rather far...;)

Posting in the Ghost Town!
:)
Oh well, too bad I didn't have at the very least a week to spare a couple weeks back...would've loved to kept going on this in the BO.
Never would have finished though...
So, I've been building this bike in my head for months and it's cool to finally see one of my main ideas come to life.
After doing the X53, I knew that next up was going to be something inspired by one of my all time favorite bikes, the Colson Clipper.
Here you go.
Not even close really, but the lines are as I imagined and the feel of the bike remains steam punk...or perhaps Steam Ship?

That 'tank' says 'Colson Clipper' to me! Nice work. When I saw just the top bit, I thought you were going for a pirate build and that was the sword! [emoji38][emoji38]

Keep going on this trike!

I was with ya right up to the curly thingys. I think that they detract from the awesome metal work that you did on the top bar. Just sayin

Thanks!
Will be sorta piratey I'd guess..
The wrought iron is tacked in presently and will almost certainly be moved to another part of the build eventually.

There will be Alot going on with this before it's done...pulling in the steam punk vibe, but also plan to rif off of the great French Rat builders that drift in and out of this site... Guys who kind of owned the artistic cutting edge of custom bike building IMHO.
That is until @bikewhoarder raised the bar way up :)

Got my first chain on.
Came up with a drop out for the 2 speed kickback on the fly...works just fine!
I'll add a bunch of gussets and plates to mach sure the thing is bombproof.
I have a weld on sprocket on the way that goes up against the flange on the other side of the hub and then back to the axle.

Really cool build, I'm with Jimk, it looked so open and airy without the scrolling, and it allowed the top tube to be the focal point. Either way, gonna be cool!

Cool! Thanks!
How this bike actually winds up looking, I really couldn't guess...I'll add and subtract doodaddery to it until the final day I'm sure...;)

It won't look like a chopper, or a custom or probably any one style in particular...(might have a bit of those things thrown in)

It will have more than the usual quantity of moving parts though, I will say...

Boy, that thing is a monster. Really cool, looks a little heavy but way cool none the less.
