Got some parts finally, now I can try and get this beast powered up!
Sprocket was a wee bit too small to fit on the hub but close enough that 10 minutes with the file got her on.
Chain just barely clears the flange, but does and now it's time to test the fit...

Working on the chain guard and brake lever...

Wait a minute! Did you just create a Bendix 2 speed kickback trike hub?!?!
That is cool right there buddy!
Cheers!

Yes indeed :)
Weld on sprocket against the flange...it'll be awhile before I can test ride it. The rear axle is getting another pair of pillow blocks mid span.
Right now there is a lot of flex in the axle, it would probably run pretty awfully...

Get'er done!

Will do...:)

Decided that I really want to be able to separate the front and back sections on this bike.
For a few reasons... portability, storing it in the winter and also I'll probably wind up using the back end on a daily basis in a spot that is a bit tight for the entire bike...

So, while I'm waiting for various odds and ends to arrive in the post, I'm going ahead with the surgery :)

Well, as part of the bolt together halves project, I finally got my seat post done the way I'd intended.
It's extended long, but how the seat attaches and which seat Etc are TBD...so here it is for now.

Tires should arrive today!

Tires.
Got these smaller moped tires and stretched them on.
Kind of perfect...although i do have the meatier tires as well, if I want to change the look later.

Also, unbolted the back end to swap a sprocket and add a couple

more pillow blocks.
Did a beafier job welding the sprocket to the hub.
Hope to find out soon how it rides

Playing around with some different ideas for the seat. I have this metal seat I made onto an old b72 frame... it might get kind of hot behind the seat, metal is the way to go I'm thinking.

Also, putting down some base paint over the rust.
Looking for a very aged look on the paint, so this is just the start.

Ya know what? To be honest those curly thingys are really starting to grow on me. Didn't think they fit at first, but now I believe that I was wrong. Keep going.

Thanks guys!
Was starting to think i was boring y'all ;)
Not exactly a typical build...alot of moving parts and at the end of the day, not really a "bike" thats going to log alot of miles.
The wrought iron details are there to stay i think...im trying to tie this bike in with my other grill bike so i can use them both at events and theyll be like a dynamic duo :)

Still have the front wheel to make Luke! Might have a question for you aboutt bearings...
