Hey gang!

This past Friday I was looking at the Crossbow Cycles website, checking out the Monark Springer Fork they are building. At the bottom of the page, it states that the fork is available with optional dic brake adapters http://www.crossbowcycles.com/forks.html. SO, I email the company to find out if there is any additional price for the adapters-here's the reply I got, with my original email at the bottom:

Hi Mark,

The fork is just not designed for the forces the extended rockers generate that are needed to use the disc brake.

The fork will work with a drum brake.

Subject: Monark Fork Price

Hi there! I was looking at your website this morning, and noticed that there is an option for disc brake adapters. Is there an additional cost for those? I want to purchase for fork, but need to know pricing.

Thanks!

Mark

So, the website says one thing, but the company says something different. HUH?

Needless to say, I'm not ordering them now.

Gee, ya mean that business websites are sometimes out of date or not updated? What a shocking revelation.
Order the fork, they require a little fine tuning sometimes but otherwise they make a good product. And if you seriously need disc brakes due to the type of riding you do, then you should be looking at only the strongest modern forks not a repop of a 60 year old design.
