It's been a productive few days, got it to a roller.

Had this new leather saddle with shiny chrome springs, that wouldn't do....so I aged the saddle with a few coats of dark brown and black shoe polish. Then I did a little 'faux-tina' to the springs

I've got to say, it's pretty comfortable.
My next decision is grips. I have to choose between these Felt units I have that are designed for the Nexus 3 speed or using the shifter piece and cutting a set of Thompson bottle grips. I know where my head is, thoughts??

It's supposed to rain here all day tomorrow, hopefully I can button up a few things.

Cheers,

Got the 3 speed cabled up, used the bell as a cable clamp.
Decided to sacrifice the Thompson grip (forgive me Ian :) )
The headlight from the old bike bolted right on and 'fits' the look, I'll be reusing the old 'battery terminal cleaner turned tail light' too, but also as the brake arm holder. Time permitting, I'll work on the chainguard and chain tomorrow and hopefully take it for a spin.

It's a rider! Took it out for short ride around the neighborhood, nice comfy cruiser. I'm gonna work on the chainguard and rear fender ( kinda liking it fenderless though)

Lovin' my 'patina bike'!
Many thanks to CeeBee for providing me the canvas and DoubleNickle and DonOne for their help and guidance.

Cheers,

Thanks for help in getting done!
You need to give this a new thread of its own! It's technically a completely different bike.

BRAVO Tank! That turned out perfect. Loving that patina. Sweet tire and rim combo too. I agree with Tyler, it should have its own thread.

So, the springs on the seat were bottoming out under my 215 lbs. I did a search on 'motorcycle seat springs' on eBay and stumbled onto these 3" 'aged' copper units.

Here's the comparison to the original ones

The new ones required some larger washers

It took a little patience and a thin pedal wrench to reach between the coils but, I got them in.
They really firm things up and now it doesn't bottom out.
