i put this Never Dull container on the bike yesterday. It's big enough for a wallet, camera and keys. What do you guys think?

we're brainstorming at work to come up with an even better container.

definately gives off an oil tank vibe !!! i love it !!! id bet you could do all sorts of stuff with it, cool place to hide a bikelock/cable too.

AWESOME!!!!

Besides the RRBO contest, ever think of having a year-end award for something like this, for example, the "I can't believe nobody thought of this before award" or the "most borrowed".

The container looks wonderfully ratty, and by ratty I mean a clever adaptation of a object originally intended for a different function but re-purposed according to need...and it looks cool, too.

I would look for something like the old coffee cans that had those clips on the side which would lock the top shut. They were probably on them originally to seal the lid from air leaks and preserve the coffee beans flavor, but now they would keep the lid from flying off it you hit a bump. Or it would throw off the K-9's if you were transporting anything other than a bike lock or cable (that's a joke)...

Nice frame as well, what is that?

I'm glad you all like the idea, and I can't wait to see what you all do with it. I know for sure some of you fabricators are going to one-up it and make something really awesome. Have at it.

someone asked if it is a screw top, not it's not, just a friction fit. That's what I meant when I said we were brainstorming for better ideas. Then Skip (thatismytruck) found screw-on aluminum containers. If they are the correct width (they need to be narrow), that would be much better, because then things can rattle around in there and not push the cap off.

Also, a friend suggested putting a spring on the inside that keeps the cap on. In other words, you would have to pull the cap off against the spring's tension, and push the cap aside to access the contents inside. Then align the cap, and it would almost be self closing from the spring's pull. Know what I mean?

One of the reasons I like the Never Dull container is that when I've been at Rat Rod car shows, the guys often use old Marvel Mystery Oil cans or what-not as catch containers. So I thought this was following in that tradition.

thanks again

the never dull can is brilliant! expect many variations on the idea to start showing up. i grabbed one of the aluminium tea cans off the `bay,to make a small moon tank,to mount on my all-black rollfast project. thanks for the inspiration!
