Out of the garage attic and into the sun light, I bring you the donor bike and inspiration of my first Build-off entry.

In the coming weeks, you will see the tear down and transformation of a 1960 Murray Sonic Flite.

This bike has been just sitting collecting spider webs for over two years since i bought it at an auction for $10. It's time to make it sweet! :arrow:

The bars and head light are on as a mock-up and will not stay. The seat, however, is from an old Suburban and is the :idea: spark :idea: . As I gather parts, I will post them here.

Re: Murray Phantom gets some new paint

After scoring a re-pop Phantom tank and a chrome chain guard, I've come up with a color scheme.

Not sure how well my pinstripe will work out, but two-tone black on blue should look sharp.

Getting the wheels back to chrome is going to take alot of work....maybe I will look into another option or steal from another bike in the shed.

Re: Make the tank fit.

The frame and tank obviously aren't made for eachother.

I snipped out a long filler piece from sheet metal and hammered an edge on it to combine the two top tubes into one. This give me a spot to mount some switches.

Fenders painted.

I just primed/painted the fenders and I'm just too impatient when it comes to seeing the finished bike!

so I had to do this quick mock-up with the painted parts.

I still have lots to do...must stop jumping ahead!
