Hi, guys. I am curious what is the widest tire I could fit in a Felt tank-frame ?
I have a 24" rim 50mm wide.
What is the widest hub You could fit in there, is another question that is bugging me. I was surprised to see that my 7sp Shimano IGH easily fit between the chainstays of my Felt. Any help would be apreciated, I couldn't find anything on the internet.
Can You get a NuVinci hub in there?

I am fascinated by the NuVinci hub ever since I saw an article on them and browsed throught their website. I am affraid it is out of the question for that frame though, which is a shame because it is my favorite cruiser frame.

In the end I bought a 24x3.0 Berm Master tire:

I like how it looks, I will take some photos and put them on my build thread probably tomorrow.

Alexander Mayr from Germany have put 80mm 24" rims with 3.0 thick bricks on his aluminium felt frame. If i remember right he had some wide hub too, nexus 8 or even alfine. He did cold-set his frame, bent his seat-stays and chain-stays all with hand tools, no complicated fabrication. Yes, he is aware it does not help the material to keep stiffness, and chances are the frame would crack sooner, but it holds until now and looks awesome. I think if you want some advise from a person who did this extreme wide wheels fitting to his frame - ask him. He is a friendly person and available at facebook.
Hard to find good pictures, but at least you can see the bike here :)

And here is the setup that is similar to one you are going for, but even wider rims. 24x65 with 3.0 thick bricks. Bike from Caro Wei.

Wow those are cool pics. That guy in the back on the first photo is awesome and his bike as well.
This is some good info. I got an answer on the german forum that a Nuvinci does fit in that frame. The guy didn't elaborate how, so I would wait for more info before cold setting the frame.
