I was able to restrain myself from trying the cream wheels from the chopper. In the end I want the bulky heavy duty look and not necessarily the 20s vibe.

I took the mounting bracket from a Tacho and used it to install a fender, or a piece of fender.

I tried a longer piece but didn't like it:

I used the longer piece for the rear, there is a gap though:

I might simply cover the angled rack section with some plate that I cut to shape.

I thought about that:

I couldn't come up with a reversible way to attach leading and mounting points for the rods and I don't want to drill holes in the tank either.

The problem with revo shifters is that they are way too bulky and require a lot of grip area on the bars. Very annoying.

Maybe an idea for some other bike in the future, then.

Now I wish I had thought about rods earlier, I could have modified a downtube changer for my IGH hub...

Yes, for the life of me I couldn't remember on what I had seen them! For my build I am trying to avoid buying online, keeping things local as it were, but it has given me an idea how to make one... :)

My grips won't stay in place. Can I use hairspray (I think I read that somewhere)? And can I easily remove it if needed with wd40?
I used hairspray on Duck Norris's grips. The non aerosol type. Finesse maybe? It isn't sticky enough for my old worn grips, they still rotate. Shouldn't be too tough to clean off, people wash it out of their hair
Ditto. Works well for a non permanent solution. It's also what I use on carbon fiber bars because I don't want any funny business under the grip with the carbon resin and spray paint (my go to fastening method)
