Felt wheels on a dyno.

The Felt cruiser wheels I ordered came in this weekend. They look like they were born on this Dyno with the Super Slicks.

The raised letters on the rear tire was hitting the chain guard. Chain guard was cracked and plastic. The crank had been rubbing on the guard due to the warped, cracked plastic. (Unrelated to tire) Metal guard would have cleared with a spacer. Nobody wears bell bottom trousers anymore, so mostly a non issue. The bike floats with those wheels, hardly have to peddle. Super pleased with the performance. I'm a get another set for another Dyno. Perhaps from @Smoopy this time.

Thanks for the info, I've been thinking about a 50mm rim. My Dyno Mooneyes bike has a metal chain guard, I don't know when they started making a plastic chain guard. I have 10 Dyno's, all metal chain guards.

I'm convinced Dyno Cruisers would have come with 50mm rims had these rims been readily available in 2000. The 24x3 fireball is evidence.

I've had tire to Dyno chain-guard interference with a Schwalbe 2.35" tire on a Huffy 40mm rim; the steel guard was the more simple style, not the classic one on the deluxe or base models. Not sure if the overall chain length, sprocket sizes, and relative placement of the axle/hub within the drop-outs was a contributing factor. Was about to notch it, but then switched to 2.1" black.
I've tried adjustment once, but then the guard front would hit the cranks.
I have a used bike with a previously tweaked chain-guard (black); it seems that they will bend easy enough, and may even flex some in hot and cold weather.
I have seen only one other Dyno with a plastic chain guard, (that one was online), and it was also cracked.

All my other Dynos have a metal chain guard. This one is cracked and just doesn't fit right. Crank was rubbing on it long before I got it.

I wonder why they switched to plastic on a limited number bike. I'll get my serial # in a little bit, to see if it was a early bike or a later bike.
