I got this bike I believe in the middle of summer from backpeddler and decided to take it on as a project. Being canadian the lack of replacement parts is a big problem though so i'm sure to buy the missing parts it's gonna cost quite abit. the springer also has some weird play in it, I think it may have a washer missing though. any opinion/ ideals?

The bike in question just new seat and whitewalls are on it now, not pictured.

Should look like this, or close anyway

It's hard to tell from here, but the springer-fork looks to be slightly bent away from the headtube ?
Compared with the other picture the forks seem not 100% parallel. Cool bike nevertheless !

forks shaft in the headtube is abit bent, I havn't got around to fixing that, but I think this type of springer does that. what I mean is the wheel flexes side to side and can rub the forks due to something in where the drop out braket is. I don't mind but I wonder if it's safe

have any of the bolts been replaced, i know the spaceliner forks use carraige bolts and im thinking those monark forks do too. may be causing some slack if theyve been replaced with the wrong bolt ???

It looked like they wherte the ones that came on bike when it was new, the cones are good, theres just alot of play in the dropouts, maybe the bolds are worn down abit.

Do I have to buy a firestone tank for this or will others fit?
As for that headlight I know thats gonna be a pain lol

Damn it, theres two firestones with parts I need on ebay and don't ship to canada. lifes unfair lol

firestone and monarks should be the same tank right ??? i dont know if the monark version (same bike but had a headtube shield) used a different tank or not, they also had a crown emblem on them i believe that it think was handpainted !?! might be hard to find depending on how exact your trying to restore it. for some reason i want to say some shelby tanks may have been the same too. but im not 100% sure on any of this

If it fits in the hole thats all that matters lol it looks better with a tank then with no tank, dosn't matter what it is as long as it bolts in there nice.
