If you are willing to ride a mile or so, get off of Lake Shore Drive at Recreation Drive and head north there's a ton of parking between there and Montrose beach... Then it's less than a mile up to get to Foster!

Just split from the group at 2 not too bad back at the Foster Beach park by 2:30 into the Windy City headwind....
From just n of the Navy Pier.
