Managed to fix the rear sprocket again. As expected the safety ring became loose. Tried to put it back in place again and saw that it was a ‘square’ ring where it should be a round one (as that makes sense 😂) So it didn’t clamp correctly. The guy where I got the wheels from would send me a round safety ring that should fit better.

After I installed this ring back again temporarily I took the bike out for another spin. Everything looks and feels OK. Only thing I noticed is that the crank/pedals have some play from left to right.
Anybody any idea where that comes from and how to solve that?

When you first attach the cranks there shouldn't be any side to side play. As you ride some, the bearings seat in and you may get a little slack which will allow some play. Remember the adjusting nut and race are left handed threads. Just snug it back up and be sure the washer has the nub in place so it stays in place and try it again. That should take care of the play in the cranks.
