I have a pair of US Chain tread tires that have a couple spots where they are cracking. Does anyone know of a way to save these tires? I was thinking maybe some rubber cement like from a patch repair kit? Also... has anyone seen anybody making repop chain tread tires?

Those have moved into the 'display only' section! You can get black latex caulk at HD or Lowe's and smear it in there for cosmetics, but I'd say there's nothing you can do to an old tire like that to make it safely rideable! And it's a shame, no one has repopped Chain tread tires! -Adam

for display only ! a good thick black shoe polish will fill in "small" dry-rot cracks, then a small amount of flat spray clearcoat on top of it :?:

For any sort of structural damage, which you have, you can't do anything. Patch glue is sticky because of pressure. The outside of the tube presses against the inside of the tire. If you were to glue a tire, it would be pressing against the air. And 14.something psi isn't enough pressure.

I've tried to save one, but once it starts to go it just keeps on going. If it's a regular 26" just swap it out and hang it on the wall. In my case it was one of those annoying 26x1.375 tires that are tough to find.
