Pulled the Typhoon frame and fork down from the attic and messed around with it today.

First with a fixed gear 700cc wheelset off the Walmart Thruster I recently bought. Rode it around this morning. First time riding fixed. Learned some things. If you forget your riding fixed gear, fixed gear quickly reminds you. I have one knee that doesn't like riding fixed.

Then I put on a 26" kickback wheelset and knobbies. Rode it around this afternoon. Learned some things. 2 speed Kickback doesn't work well for riding bmx jumps. I'm too fat & old to be riding bmx jumps.

bike looks good with knobbies and cross bars on it. Was this a sturmey or bendix kickback. I know the sturmey kickback I have is pretty consistant with shifting gears and all the bendix hubs takes a bit more effort to actually shift.

Fixed is dangerous without toeclips or brakes.
Yes I was pretty cautious.

Bendix. Mostly a problem if I had to brake at a corner right before a jump.

Interesting. :| I have an entire self that doesn't like it. :p
Any longer on it and I'm sure the other knee would have complained too.

Don't think I'd ever want to ride a fixed gear without at least one wheel having a brake...
