I just finished up an 89 Schwinn ( I think World with chrome fork) fixie that I built for my son. It's the first time I've really tried one, and it's lots of fun! Here are a few pictures of the before and finished bike.
Stripped....used water based stripper, worked great!

Most of the bike is original. Bike was a mess :( . I stripped and repainted. The wheels and pedals and seat are new. But I still have the original 27" wheels that are in good condition (rear now single speed freewheel)and the Brooks saddle. I can't wait to start on one for me! :lol:
 
that looks fantastic. I really like how you did the handlebars!
 
Turned out pretty good. What kind of frame was it originally? A World or World Sport? Did it originally come with a chrome fork also?
