Eeeeeep! Had some company drop in for my morning coffee. I think it's a horsefly, but I've never seen one this big.

We have both here, my friend the elusive Zorkasauraus and the variety of Montane Zone flora that is having a banner year on the Mighty Uncompahgre Plateau this Summer. I've never seen more flowers and this particular trail more overgrown than any year since I have been riding up there beginning in 1995.
